| Week 3.30: Ladyness |
Vasily Konovalenko. You haven't heard of him, have you? Well, that's okay. Neither had I. Until. Until the day we took the kids to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and we split up so we could do girl exploration while the guys did their version.
Then, in the last 30 minutes the museum was open, I received an urgent phone call from Darin who had stumbled upon a small exhibit that was not being advertised. I love that my husband (who describes my Ladyness as an onion with many layers and potent flavor) saw this decadent detail and immediately thought of me.
I made my way to Level Three and entered a single, small room with Vasily Konovalenko's art and I was immediately and suddenly transported to another time and place. If you ever have a chance to view them in person, I highly recommend it!
Now. Getting back to Ladyness. This idea has been rolling around in the back corners of my mind for some time and it was brought into sharp focus about two weeks ago. My stepdaughter shared that she appreciates the "womanhood" I bring to our house and family. The soft touches, the plants, the fabrics, the layers. It's our nature, really. If we are answering our higher calling we are the beauty bringers and the beauty creators for our small worlds as well as the world at large.
I am honored to be a woman and to be able to bestow Ladyness on my little corner of the planet. It's nice to have another woman, a little woman, express her appreciation for it, too. I only hope I can pass it on to other little women...because, as my dad tells me, I, like the Lone Ranger, am a fabulous individual.
I bring Ladyness.

"... She ladyishly flitted her demure eyelashes, obscurring deep, keen, sparkling, magic eyes; and allowed all whom did not love her to assume the fabulous as a fable... to their own loss... a remourseful and uncreative demise of mind and heart.
For them."
Love Forever,
Here and Now,
