Week 2.42: Through the Looking Glass

2.42: Through the Looking Glass is my latest ring acquisition. I scored this beauty while hanging out with my friend, Kelly, In Ruidoso, NM. I'm a sucker for rings; they're the #1 choice of a souvenir for me when I travel. I especially love this ring because it makes me feel like I could jump into the storybook with Alice and peer Through the Looking Glass with her.

This week is a tribute to peering Through the Looking Glass and finding the contradictions in life that make it reality.

On Growing/Changing/Identity:

Alice:
"I wonder if I've been changed in the night? Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I'm not the same, the next question is 'Who in the world am I?' Ah, that's the great puzzle!"

On Being Able to Explain One's Self:

Alice:
"I can't explain myself, I'm afraid, Sir, because I'm not myself you see."

On Aging/Maturing/Learning:

Alice:
"But then, shall I never get any older than I am now? That'll be a comfort, one way -- never to be an old woman -- but then -- always to have lessons to learn!"

On Things Making Sense:

Alice:
"It would be so nice if something made sense for a change."

On Direction(s):

Doorknob:
"Read the directions and directly you will be directed in the right direction."

On Being Late/Timing:

Mad Hatter:
"No wonder you're late. Why, this watch is exactly two days slow."

Sarah! I love this ring too!
I love how the top of the picture bends in towards you, dimensional.
Beautiful, beautiful picture. It took my breath when I saw it.
My fave quote is the comfort quote.
Only, I love learning. Forever encore!
