My apologies for neglecting you, my dear Project 52...and my dear Project 52 followers. It's been a bit of this and that with a crazy trip to the South along with a bit of a creative wall being in the way that has led me to this place. Buut, I promise, the next few blogs will be worth the wait. I have been "writing" blogs in my brain for weeks now, and I'm finally feeling the creative umph rise up within me to write it out.Week 2.12: Ribbons is dedicated generally to friend reunions...something I dearly love. I have had the great joy of being reunited with old friends on more than one occasion. Sometimes, the reunion is only via email or phone...sometimes it has been via text or Skype...some(best)times, it is in person.
This photo was taken last year for one of my portfolio projects. It's a photo of my friend's (SCM) bracelet. It is fitting based on subject material and how it relates to this week's poem; but it's also fitting because SCM is one of those dear treasures I have reunited with in recent years...after she had gone missing for several.
Week 2.12: Ribbons is dedicated specifically to my Sweet Georgia Peach...someone I dearly love. I recently had the great joy of being reunited with her in person. The following poem is a bit of retrospection on how our friendship started and where it has gone since. Ribbons was prompted upon our heartbreaking departure from each other's daily lives (again). I started penning it while waiting for a delayed flight in the Denver airport and finished it in my living room back at home...away from my Sweet Georgia Peach.
Away, in the physical sense. Still, so very close in our hearts. I love you, Sweet.
Ribbons
The ribbons fluttered gently
All those years ago
When the Hand first chose them perfectly
How could we have ever known?
The tensions twisted early
All those years ago
As the girl first pushed you roughly
How could she have ever known?
The ribbons danced so softly
All those years ago
When the days had passed their glances
On the girls who didn’t know
The ribbons trailed quietly
All those years ago
When the Wonder started fading
On the girls who didn’t know
The ribbons almost disappeared
All those years between
Yet, the days would show them once again
As girls whose hearts believed
Yes, the ribbons wove a pattern
Not so long ago
When the Weaver looped them tighter
It seems He must’ve known
He must’ve know the ribbons
All those years ago
And how they’d pulled hearts closer
Than the girls had ever known

i wish i could express my love like that, with words. i know that God understands everything inside, but sometimes i wish others could too. so it comforts my heart to know that even though i can't, someone can.
love tiff
crying again, but in a good way.
i cannot find words...this poem(you) is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.
you are right only He could have known.
i wish i had your gift for words, it might help ease the pain of your distance.
