This little plant stake was spotted in a small corner of the very large Portland Rose Garden in Portland, OR. Upon being shown the photo on the lcd screen, my dear co-photo junkie, Wahkuna, commented, "Of course you took more photos of things NOT roses in the Portland Rose Garden." ...ah, how well she knows me...because Oregon's hydrangeas stole my heart (and lens).
And the fact that this stake captured my attention amidst a heady aroma of rose perfume further reinforces the fact that my tendency is to focus on the obscure minutea.
But who doesn't love the tragic comedy of the Great Bard?!? And so, without further ado (heehee), I give you some of my favorite quotes:
"Your silence most offends me, and to be merry best becomes you; for, out of question, you were born in a merry hour." ~Don Pedro to Beatrice
"No, sure, my lord, my mother cried; but then there was a star danced, and under that was I born..." ~Beatrice to Don Pedro
"I do much wonder that one man, seeing how much another man is a fool when he dedicates his behaviors to love, will, after he hath laughed at shallow follies in others, become the argument of his own scorn by falling in love." ~Benedick to himself
"Shall quips and sentences and these paper bullets of the brain awe a man from the career of his humor? No. The world must be peopled." ~Benedick
"Friendship is constant in all other things, save in the office and affairs of love."
~Claudio
