Thus, Week Three: Brilliant Lovely.
Having taken almost two weeks to ponder what I want to post, I have settled now on a dedication...to love and friendship and faithfulness and honesty and showing up when you feel like you have nothing to offer (other than your presence)...to my amazing friends.

And to the Brilliant Lovely who remember your face after nine years like they just saw you yesterday...who hold you close despite thousands of miles of literal separation...who cry with you in a most profound and broken-hearted fashion when you are crushed beneath what seems like too much.
To my dear, Sweet Georgia Peach. I love you...for talking late into the night...for wanting to process it all...for laughing like you do...for introducing me to your beautiful girls...for giving up days and nights for me...for sweating the small stuff right alongside me...for taking satisfaction in obsessive detail...for loving my photography work...for reminding me to dream big...for bringing an hour of glimmer out of years of shadow...for reminding me that love is real.
And to the bride and groom we photographed all weekend: thank you for choosing us to celebrate and capture it all. I feel so privileged and loved and amazed to have been with you for three days. I love you both and look forward to all the future memories we will share.
And, finally, to my friend, Wahkuna, who stomped the pavement with me for this shot of Brilliant Lovely in my downtown hometown. I cannot wait to see what this next week brings!! To the adventure!

Dude! Where did this lady get her SHOES? I wish I could pull off pointies this well, alas, I cannot.
I love you.
How could one weekend be filled with so much laughter, crying, beauty and pain? (and photography too :)
It was wonderful, powerful and necessary.
The love, grace and truth I experience in our friendship is a gift in my life.
I know very good and perfect things are in store for both of us as we continue to seek Him.
Your forever friend,
melissa
