He DID point out that more exciting things would be ahead if I would leave the first lane we were shoeing down...He was right.
Of course, we discovered this majestic view in the last quarter of our adventure...but first I had to "lose" my cell phone and retrace my steps looking deep into the tracks we had already made. Thankfully, it was not actually "lost" but "misplaced."
I have a terrible habit of putting things in a "safe" place, but then the place is so brilliantly "safe" I forget I put it there. Case in point: it was in the top part of the pack my Love was carrying next to the emergency food supplies and water. I'm sure I'm the only one that does this.
Anyway, we continued on, and I made my regular stops all along the way. It was a spectacular day to be outside enjoying everything...including a lovely moonrise. And in the last stretch as we turned a bend, this was our view.
I love the Paradigms of the dark light and the bright light, the muted color and the shout of color, the crisp air and the warmth under my jacket as we plunged through the trails.
As someone greater said, "There are dark shadows on the earth, but its lights are stronger in the contrast." (Charles Dickens)
I am thankful that the lights are stronger.
