Week 2.52: Fierce Ride is the last of my second round of Project 52ing...which fell dismally behind in the past few months...for obvious reasons, if you know me.
In addition to being a last, Fierce Ride also happens to be a first. It's my favorite photo I took this past "First" Christmas. It's a new ornament I got through marriage. It's from my wonderful husband's rodeo days. I would also like to mention that it has moving parts...which, even as an adult, I find fascinating. Yep. The bronco bucks and the cowboy sways. It's wonderful.
It's been a Fierce Ride these last few months...this last Project 52. Some tough stuff. Some really fun stuff. Some great stuff. Some sad stuff. Some different stuff. Some amazing stuff.
Fierce Ride has not been boring. It has been chaotic. It has not been predictable. It has been surprising. It has not been mild. It has been caliente. It has not been ho-hum. It has been fascinating.
My First Christmas on this Fierce Ride included making luminarias with my husband and lining our driveway on Christmas Eve together. It included snowshoes from Santa. It included finding out Santa still exists to some people. It included being away from family for the first time in a long time. It included my new family working very hard and creatively over Christmas dinner to make me feel loved.
Yes, and the Fierce Ride continues...up until (and through today)...the pinnacle of Hallmark holidays. It's been a while since I've had a Valentine. I have one tonight, though. And this poem is for him.
Fierce Ride
Almost instant recognition
Between two hearts
Caused the traffic over airways
to fade
Into dramatic integration
Over many broken parts
That otherwise continue
to stay
Almost terrified running
Away from destiny
Returned the same conclusion
again
That the fierce ride of a lifetime
Arrived at just the right time
Determined forever
to stay

I love you, Babe. Happy Valentine's Day. I'm glad I'm yours.
Everyone else: stay tuned. I don't think I'm done Project 52ishnessing yet! Thanks for following.

Thank you Sarah - I've missed your posts and am happy to hear you're planning to continue them. It's a great way to stay connected to those far away. (And I just got
snowshoes too!)
How beautiful Sarah! Your poem is fantastic, what a gifted, wonderful lady you are! I miss you, Debs xxx

I know you were with me in spirit. Miss you tons. Love you more.
Anonymous Who Got Snowshoes:
So glad you miss me. =)Guessing this is Rita because Deb T. rarely confesses in public that she misses me...even though she usually forgets to sign her name. Isn't snowshoeing the greatest!?!?! I have blog posts to come with photos from those adventures!!! Yay!
Debs:
I love you and miss you. We need a catch up! I think I shall take you up on that offer you made a while back and email you soon. Much love to you, Dear Girl...
SO happy for you Sarah! Keep it up woman :P
