I recently had a bout with the sometimes elusive muse "Creativity." It happens. Regularly. Get too comfortable or in too much of a routine: it happens. Get too tired: it happens. Get too predictable: it happens. Get used to the usual: it happens. Get all of the above: get moving!!
Thankfully, I had a more than willing accomplice who day tripped with me to the oasis of Santa Fe. The first half of the day we walked "my" route. After lunch, we walked "her" route. Oh, my gosh! It's so fun to see a place through someone else's eyes, to walk in someone else's shoes.
Not only was it fun to be with a girl and talk girl talk, but the girl also has a profound love for art (she minored in it). And she grew up in and around New Mexico, so she knows even more than I do! So fun!
We also got to see the American Impressionism collection that's running for just a few more weeks. Oh, how I love the Impressionist movement! It is a wonderful show. I highly recommend it. We had lunch at my favorite French place and then went wandering up Canyon Road. Good times.
And in case you thought I forgot to do a photo for this week, look below: I did 50! Welcome back slideshows!! Maria Taylor is singing "Good Start." I love the lyrics:
"It's a shame now, baby, you can't see yourself,
And everything you're running from.
And it's the same world, honey, that has brought You down,
As the one that's gonna pick you up."
So when you're feeling like you're hitting a wall somewhere in your life, remember: the world isn't going to change. But you can. And so can your attitude. Get inspired!
